EACR-ESMO Joint Conference on Liquid Biopsies

Bergamo, Italy : 15 - 17 May 2019

Venue Information & Directions

The Venue

The conference will take place at Centro Congressi Giovanni XXIII, a historic venue in the middle of Lower Bergamo.

Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII, 106
24121 Bergamo

How to get there

The conference centre is ideally located just 100 metres from Bergamo railway station, and 4km from Orio al Serio Airport. Milan is served by 3 international airports, so make sure you take this into consideration before booking your flights. Full directions to the venue can be found on the venue website, and are summarised here:

Cross the main road outside the station, and walk along Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. The venue will be on your left after around 100 metres.

Orio al Serio Airport is just 4km from the conference venue. We recommend taking the airport shuttle bus to Bergamo railway station – the journey takes around 20 minutes. Buses run frequently from 05:18 to 00:00 every day, and tickets can be bought for €2.30 from the airport bus stop or local newsagents. Airport taxis will cost around €20 - €25 each way.

Linate Airport is 52km from the venue, and the journey takes around 45 minutes by taxi (and costs €80-€100 each way). We suggest taking a taxi to Pioltello Limito train station, which should take 10 minutes and cost no more than €20. It is also possible to take a bus for this step. Then there is a direct train to Bergamo at least every hour, which takes 35 minutes and costs €4.80. To get back to the airport, just reverse the steps. Train tickets can be purchased online in advance.

Milan Malpensa Airport is 90km from the venue, and the journey takes around 90 minutes by taxi (and costs €140-€180 each way). A direct bus service connects Malpensa Airport to the downtown area of Bergamo. Connecting trains via Milan Central Station are also available. Another option is to take the train from the airport train station (Malpensa Aeroporto T1 or T2) to Bergamo, changing trains at Milano Centrale. Including the connection time, this journey should take around 2h 20m in total. To get back to the airport, just reverse the steps. Train tickets cost €18.50 each way and can be purchased online in advance.

From the Bergamo motorway exit, follow the signs 'centro città'-'stazione'. Once in the centre, at the traffic lights on Via Bonomelli, turn left into Via Papa Giovanni XXIII. You will see the Centro on the left before the next crossroads with Via Paleocapa. The nearest paid parking is on Via Paleocapa.

WARNING - scam targeting of participants

The EACR has learned that third-party companies (i.e. Business Travel Management) are targeting EACR conference speakers and participants with a fraudulent travel and hotel booking scheme. These companies often make phone calls falsely claiming to be the official accommodation partner, and send emails with credit card forms.

Please be aware that these companies make false and fraudulent claims about themselves in order to obtain credit card information. If you are contacted about this conference by any organisation other than the EACR, please forward the information to Laura Strachan before taking any other action.
