To this end, the EACR welcomes partnerships with all kinds of organisations in cancer research, from other associations, non-profits and charities to our sponsors in industry. This is guided by our Ethical Fundraising and Partnerships Policy.
Click on the headings in the menu to learn more about our partnerships. To find out how to get involved as a partner in our activities, contact us using the details on this page.
This policy covers how the EACR will consider all its partnerships, including collaborations, fundraising, sponsorship and joint working.
The EACR, a registered charity, is a global membership community for those working and studying in cancer research, with more than 13,000 members worldwide. Our mission is “The advancement of cancer research for the public benefit: from basic research to prevention, treatment and care.”
The EACR will only work with or receive support from partners whose goals, actions and/or values are in line with our mission, and each partner will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
We aim to be transparent within our partnerships and collaborations, as well as transparent about with whom we are working and the nature of the partnerships.
In order for the EACR to enter into a formal partnership with any organization, there should be sufficient evidence that the partnership will benefit the EACR and its work. There should also be documentation of what each party is providing to, and gaining from, the relationship. Both parties should endeavour to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest that cannot be managed.
If any circumstances arise that may affect a partner or supporter’s standing in their reasonable opinion, they should inform the EACR.
Wherever and whenever partners or supporters plan to use the EACR name or logo in communication material, they should consult the EACR. No press release containing the EACR name or logo should be disseminated without our prior review and approval.
