Networking Opportunities

At the EACR, we know that conferences are about more than just hearing the latest research. Our events are well-known for providing excellent opportunities for networking, interaction and discussion. Here are some of the features you can look forward to at Cancer Metabolism:

Welcome Reception

Tuesday 11 October, 17:00-18:00

A welcome drinks reception will be held on Tuesday evening to give participants the opportunity to meet new colleagues and reconnect with friends. A light buffet will be served for all participants and exhibitors to enjoy. The trade exhibition will be open at this time, and there is the opportunity to continue networking and view posters.

Poster Discussion Sessions

Tuesday 11 October, 18:00-19:30

Wednesday 12 October, 13:20-14:50

There are two dedicated 90-minute Poster Discussion Sessions in the programme. At these times, the presenters for that session should stand by their posters to discuss their work with other participants and invited speakers. As well as the dedicated sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, there will also be additional poster viewing opportunities each morning from 08.30 where posters can be freely browsed.

Networking Event - Meet the Editors

Wednesday 12 October, 18:05-18:45

Editors Alfredo Gimenez-Cassina Nature Metabolism, Maria Garcia-Fernandez Nature Communications and Barbara Marte Nature will host an informal session to answer important questions about the world of publishing.  Come prepared to ask your own questions, and look out for Alfredo, Maria and Barbara throughout the rest of the meeting.

Meet Members of the Scientific Programme Committee

Thursday 13 October, 09:00 - 09:45

An interactive session where participants can get to know, and ask questions to, Arkaitz, Christian, Sarah-Maria and Sara in an informal setting.

Conference Dinner

Wednesday 12 October, 19:30 (participants to be seated by 19:50 at the latest)

The Conference Dinner is now sold out. If you would like to be added to the waiting list for a place, please email jennifer.caddick@eacr.org.

The Conference Dinner will take place at Kafe Antzokia’s Restaurant. It will be an excellent opportunity for participants and speakers to get to know each other in a relaxed and informal environment. After dinner, we will enjoy music and dancing with a live DJ.

Tickets for the conference dinner are not included in the registration fee and can be selected as an optional extra for only €45.

Due to the size of the restaurant, spaces are limited. The evening is expected to be a sell out, so make sure that you buy your ticket when registering!
