Virtual Event, Worldwide : 25 - 26 April 2023
Welcome to EACR 'Stem Cell Biology, Cancer Plasticity and Therapeutic Potential' 2023! This page brings together all the information you’ll need while attending this EACR Virtual Conference.
We run our EACR Virtual Conferences across two Zoom formats – Webinars (for the conference talks) and Meetings (for our poster discussion sessions). As an attendee during the webinar, you won’t be able to switch on your camera and will need to have your microphone enabled to ask questions. During the Poster Discussion Sessions, you will be in control of your own camera and microphone. You will need to have both switched on to get the most out of these sessions.
Approximately 24 hours before the start of each day of the conference, you should receive an email from Zoom with your link to access the conference webinar. As this is an automated email, it might be sorted into your junk folder. If you have not received your email by the morning of the conference, then please email Christopher.Iliffe@eacr.org. This webinar link is specific to you and should not be shared with anyone else.
If you click on this link before the conference is due to start, you will see a holding screen. Once EACR has started the webinar, the system will automatically move you into the conference space. If you need to leave the conference, you can rejoin later using the same link.
There are two ways that you can ask questions to our speakers during the conference talks.
If you want to ask your question live, then please use the ‘Raise Hand’ button. This might be located at the top or bottom of your screen. The Chair will invite you to ask your question, and the EACR will enable your microphone.
If you do not want to ask your question live, then use the Q&A box. This might be found at the bottom of your screen. You will have the option to ask your question anonymously if that is your preference. The Chair will then read questions from the Q&A box on your behalf.
Tuesday 25 April, 16:15-17:15 CEST
Wednesday 26 February, 12:30-13:30 CEST
The Poster Discussion Sessions are scheduled to take place at the end of Day 1 and the beginning of Day 2 of the conference. They will each be held as a seperate Zoom meeting. You will receive the links to join these meetings in the email sent to you a week before the conference. During the Virtual Poster Discussion Sessions, each poster presenter will have their very own 'Breakout Room' where they will be displaying their poster. All attendees will have full control over their camera and microphone, be able to communicate using the chat, and navigate across the breakout rooms to view each poster and talk to the poster presenter.
When you first enter the meeting, you will go straight to the “Lobby”. EACR staff will be there throughout the session should you have any questions. Details of each of the posters on display in the session and their relevant breakout rooms will also be shown on the screen in this main area. You can also access the list of posters via our Online Abstract Book and through our ‘On the Day’ guide (you can find the lists further down this page!).
Conference participants are invited to join any of the rooms to browse the posters, discuss the work on show and make new connections. To navigate to a specific breakout room, click on the ‘Breakout Room’ button and then on the specific room you would like to join. Zoom will then move you to that breakout room. Keep in mind that each poster discussion session only lasts 1 hour, so make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to browse!
If you are a Poster Presenter, you will have your own designated breakout room which corresponds to your poster number. This space is entirely yours and can be used to present your research however you think is best! We recommend sharing your poster as a PowerPoint slide or presentation.
Feedback from our previous Virtual Poster Discussion Sessions:
"The poster sessions were extremely well-organised and interactive. This type of session provides a very inspiring platform to interact with other people working in the field more openly and facilitates great scientific exchange."
"I felt fully involved in the conference most especially during the breakout session where I was able to present my work and also get to discuss it with other great minds."
"The virtual social and networking experiences provided me with valuable connections and insights that I wouldn’t have been able to gain otherwise."
