Amsterdam, Netherlands : 8 - 10 May 2017
Molecular pathology is one of the linchpins of precision medicine. No longer can treatment decisions be made solely on the basis of histopathological analyses - because genomic analyses of human cancers are resulting in the identification of the genetic determinants of tumourigenesis, cancer progression and therapy response.
Pathologists’ role in the implementation of molecular tests in diagnostic practice and the ability of pathology laboratories to perform these tests and communicate the results to oncologists are very important to the successful translation of scientific advancements into benefit to patients.
This course aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-the-art molecular pathology approaches and their application, and to discuss current genomics and molecular pathology of solid malignancies.
This course will provide a discussion of current concepts in molecular pathology, molecular pathology methods and their application, which would be beneficial for practicing pathologists and oncologists, residents and fellows in pathology and oncology, and molecular biologists with an interest in molecular pathology and precision medicine.

"This amazing new field of molecular pathology is inspiring not only for pathologists but also for the molecular biologists, chemists, biochemists, clinical geneticists and other scientists. This great course was dedicated to molecular alterations in different type of tumors with the emphasis on establishing new approaches to fight cancer based on new achievements in molecular genetics. All lecturers showed where we currently are in this field, they presented the newest results from many new studies and pointed out in what direction we are going. This was indeed a great course, one of the best in this field!"
