Virtual event, Worldwide : 26 - 27 October 2021
At the EACR, we know that conferences are about more than just hearing the latest research. Our events are well-known for providing excellent opportunities for networking, interaction and discussion, and our virtual events are no exception. Here are some of the features you can look forward to at the EACR Virtual Conference on AI in Cancer Diagnostics
Tuesday 26 October, 17:45-18:45 CEST
An informal session, participants have the opportunity to meet via video chat with our sponsors, speakers and other participants in Gather (using the unique URL you will be sent by email). You can control your character to walk around the 2D virtual poster hall. – where you will find our exclusive virtual poster hall. You can personalise your avatar to look more like you, search for other participants by name, and even gather in groups for informal chat.
You will have the ability to browse posters and create new connections with fellow conference goers. The virtual poster hall will remain open for 24 hours for you to browse at your leisure.
Wednesday 27 October, 12:30-14:00 CEST
There is a dedicated 90-minute Poster Discussion Session in the programme at the beginning of the second day. At this time, participants are invited to join us again in Gather. Poster presenters can stand by their posters to discuss their work with other participants and invited speakers over video chat or message.
A recent participant described our 90-minute Poster Discussion Session as "The best e-poster experience I've ever had since the pandemic happened".
An online abstract book will be available to logged-in participants for you to browse and click in to view each virtual poster at any time during the conference.
Wednesday 27 October, 17:05-18:05 CET
Saskia Nagel from RWTH Aachen will lead the discussion and will be joined by Ritse Mann, Nandita deSouza and Carolina Wählby. The session will be chaired by Horst Hahn.
This interactive session will highlight and explore the ethical dilemmas surrounding the use of AI in diagnostics. This will be a forum for open discussion. Participants are invited to ask questions and contribute to the conversation.
Conference participants will be sent a list of the attendees who opted-in to sharing their details. You can use this list to contact fellow conference goers to start a discussion about their presentation, abstract or maybe a question they asked during a talk.
Follow us on Twitter for updates @EACRnews and engage with the conference with #eacrAIDiagnostics. You could use this to promote your virtual poster, to comment on a talk you enjoyed or to continue the discussion with other participants.
The experience of being in the poster hall as an avatar was great, I really loved it! It is amazing what is technically possible.
Easiliy connecting with others when literally standing next so someone gave it a real-life touch. I had nice chats with colleagues and friends and met new interesting people.
All in one, the best e-poster experience I've ever had since the pandemic happened.
