Reproducibility and integrity are the cornerstones of credible science – and mastering them is essential for any researcher who wants to build a successful, respected career.

This practical, interactive workshop is designed for early-career researchers who want to understand how to design, conduct, and publish research that stands up to scrutiny and makes a lasting impact. Facilitated by EMBO, a trusted name in scientific publishing and training, it tackles real-world challenges in reproducibility, from experimental design to data sharing and authorship.

You’ll come away with new tools, insights and confidence to improve the quality of your work – and to contribute to a healthier, more trustworthy research culture.

Places are limited to one person per lab, and we encourage participants to share the workshop’s valuable materials and learning with their colleagues.

Eligibility

• You must be an EACR early career member or student member 
• You must have at least 2 years of PhD experience

Each participant will need their own:

• Desktop or laptop computer (not phone or tablet)
• Web camera and microphone. Plus headphones (if possible)
• Quiet place from which to attend with reliable internet (min. 5 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload speeds)

• After logging in, come back to this page and click here to access the application portal. Only EACR members will be able to access the portal. If you can't access the portal but you believe you are eligible, please contact our membership team. 
• Complete each section of the online form. After clicking 'Save and submit' you will be able to view and edit your application using this link at any time until the deadline.

• Application deadline: 23:59 CEST on 16 July 2025. IMPORTANT: Please note that if we receive a very high number of applications we may close the call before this date, so make sure that you submit your application as soon as it's ready.
• You can expect to hear the result of evaluation by 28 July 2025.

Evaluation

All applications will be evaluated fully. The Evaluation Committee will review applications and select participants based on the statement of motivation and diversity. Only one person per lab will be awarded a place.
