Lyon, France : 5 - 7 October 2027
Following the success of its first edition in 2025, we are pleased to be returning with a second edition of the EACR Cancer Neuroscience conference in 2027. Cancer Neuroscience is an ever-branching new field of science and medicine, with profound implications for cancer/oncology and for neuroscience/neuromedicine alike.
In this meeting we will learn from international leaders in the field how fundamental concepts, pathobiological mechanisms and clinical implications are developing. We will jointly explore how the central and peripheral nervous system govern cancer entities in the brain and entire body. Emerging topics within Cancer Neuroscience - brain-body-cancer communication in cancer, neuro-immuno-cancer interactions, neural features of cancer cells, and distinct synaptic interaction classes – will be covered.
The objective is to allow for a broad platform for scientific exchange and enrichment, and to teach the next generation of Cancer Neuroscientists how to optimally pursue a career in this highly interdisciplinary field.
This conference is relevant for all cancer researchers, oncologists, neuroscientists, and physicians working in oncology, neurology, psychiatry, internal medicine. All scientists and physicians interested in brain-body communication are also highly welcome. We hope for an audience spanning everyone interested in Cancer Neuroscience, from the youngest students to the most senior colleagues.
The nervous system is a master regulator of bodily functions, development, and regeneration. It is surprising that it took so long to appreciate its role for cancer. In this conference we will discuss the latest developments in the flourishing field of Cancer Neuroscience: how the nervous system influences cancer, which even includes stimulating synapses between neurons and cancer cells; how the nervous system influences the immune system to protect cancer from anticancer immunotherapies; and how the brain and the body communicate in cancer, and how cancer hijacks and exploits normal functions of the nervous system. The ultimate aim is to develop new cancer therapies that aim at both better cancer control, and better neurological function for improved quality of life.

Quotes from previous edition: Cancer Neuroscience 2025 in Bilbao, Spain
‘The conference was excellent, featuring engaging speakers and thoughtful talks. It provided me with valuable opportunities to connect with inspiring researchers and clinicians and build new collaborations. Most importantly, it deepened my understanding of the role of neuroscience in cancer, complementing and broadening my existing knowledge and background in cancer therapy research.’
