Postdoctoral position
A Postdoctoral position for an extremely motivated researcher to study the role of molecular and metabolic aspects of cell-programmed necrosis (necroptosis) in Ovarian Cancer Stem cells is available at The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota in Austin, MN in the Laboratory of Dr. Ilana Chefetz. Our lab aims to expand our understanding of necroptosis and energy metabolism and provide critical pre-clinical studies for a potential novel Cancer Stem cells targeted therapeutics to prevent recurrent ovarian cancer.
Required qualifications:
- PhD degree in molecular and cellular biology or biomedical sciences
- Knowledge of English (both verbal and written) are required
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in mice handling/willingness to learn
- Experience in cancer biology, Cancer Stem Cells, mesenchymal stem cells, stem cell differentiation assays, cell death pathways, FACS, metabolism, Genetically Engineered mice model, RNA-seq and cloning is desirable
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Applicants should have ability to develop new and improved methodology.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Applicants should have demonstrated scientific productivity, have a strong publication record, be able to design and execute scientific experiments independently, write manuscripts, prepare and submit competitive fellowship applications.
