The Tumor Microenvironment Lab mainly works on resistance mechanisms in glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is the most deadly type of human cancer. Recurrence is supposedly mostly caused by the regrowth of highly invasive cells spreading from the tumor bulk, which are not removed by resection. To develop therapeutic approaches, we need to better understand the underlying molecular mechanism of radioresistance and tumor spreading in glioblastoma.
The PI of the lab is Dr. Giorgio Seano, fresh off a 5-year postdoc experience in Harvard Medical School. After publishing the results from his postdoc (Cancer Cell, 2018 and Nature Biomed Eng, 2019), he opened a new laboratory in Institut Curie in Jan 2018.
Outstanding Postdocs and Lab Scientists with interest and experience in brain tumors, radiobiology, vascular biology and/or cancer stem cells. This ERC-funded project will give you the opportunity to extensively use in vivo experimental models and learn/develop intravital microscopy. These studies will be supplemented with in vitro and ex vivo models. Team player mentality, independence and problem-solving skills are expected.
