Berlin, Germany : 10 - 12 October 2023
This highly successful conference is now in its fifth edition and likely to sell out – in order to secure your place, please submit your abstract by the deadline and complete your registration payment as soon as possible.
The EACR Goodbye Flat Biology conference returns in-person to focus on the next generation of cancer models and emerging topics in the areas of cell architecture, mechanobiology, the immune microenvironment, intravital imaging and high-content analysis for cancer therapeutics.
Cancer initiation and progression involves complex processes that cannot be modelled completely using conventional 2D cultures of tumour cells. This meeting will cover the integrated multidisciplinary efforts that have led to the development of a wide range of novel approaches involving 3D culture, organoids, bioengineered systems, and in vivo models that more accurately reflect the biochemical, spatial and mechanical properties of tumours in their tissue environment.
This edition of the conference will seek to emphasize complex 3D model systems that capture the dialogue between cancer cells, the cellular stroma (e.g. fibroblasts, immune cells), and the extracellular matrix, with a focus on how this dialogue affects cancer progression and treatment response.
Faculty, postdocs, and graduate students interested in the techniques and applications of next generation cancer models at the intersection of cancer biology, engineering, and drug development. Industry scientists interested in identifying innovative platforms for drug discovery and targets for novel therapies. Journal editors interested in cutting edge cancer biology and drug discovery research.
