Submission can only be made online here. You will receive confirmation of your abstract submission automatically. Please contact Barbara Cavilla if you do not receive confirmation within 2 days of your online submission.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee and successful delegates will be notified of their poster or oral presentation after the 20th May 2009.
Poster Prizes
Poster Prizes sponsored by EJC
Chromatin and Cancer and Transcription and Cancer. Three awards will be given at each meeting. There are two Poster Sessions for each meeting.
Poster sessions will take place in the Upper Hall, immediately outside the Dining Hall.

You must take your poster down by 2100 each evening to allow for the next session.
Poster Boards are 2 metres high and 1 metre wide (portrait style) and drawing pins or double sided Velcro tape will be provided. Your poster should be no greater than 90cm x 140cm in Portrait.
The prize winners will be announced at the end of the Poster Session immediately before the Conference Dinner. The winners will be presented with a cheque and framed certificate and be invited to have their photograph taken.

BACR Hamilton-Fairley Young Investigator Award
Eligibility and Criteria: Clinically or scientifically qualified individuals, not more than 5 years post PhD/MD, who have been BACR members for at least one year.
Submit an abstract for poster presentation at either of the Symposia and indicate your wish to be considered for an award. The prize of £150 will be awarded on the basis of the quality of the abstract and presentation.
EACR Cancer Researcher Awards
Short talks will be granted to the authors of outstanding abstracts with less than ten years post-doctoral experience. Up to five (5) awards of £250 (Chromatin & Cancer) and three (3) awards of £250 (Transcription and Cancer) are available. If you are granted a short talk you will be notified by the conference organisers after the 20th May 2009. Award winners will receive a cheque, framed certificate and be invited to have their photograph taken during the meeting for publication.

Meeting Bursaries
An invitation to apply for a ‘Meeting Bursary’ is extended to students and ‘early career’ researchers who submit an abstract for presentation at either meeting and will be awarded based on the quality of abstracts submitted.
Student Bursary applicants must be registered EACR / BACR members on a PhD or equivalent programme.
The Bursary meets the cost of residential registration in a standard room and all meals for the duration of the meeting. Necessary travel expenses for economy flights/second class rail fares will also be reimbursed to a maximum of £150 UK and £250 Europe/ROW.
Award winners will also be invited to have their photograph taken for publication.
