At the end of June we were delighted to welcome 216 participants from 34 countries across the world to Churchill College, part of the University of Cambridge in the UK, for the 3rd edition of the EACR conference on Cancer Genomics (25 – 28 June 2017).
The feedback received so far has been very positive, with particular praise for the networking opportunities provided at the conference and the one-to-one interaction with speakers. The presentation and discussion of unpublished data has become a hallmark of the conference, and again this has been highly rated. Additionally, participants have highlighted the excellent quality of the posters and the generous time allocated for the poster sessions. We enjoyed glorious sunshine for the Cambridge High Tea on the lawn on Monday evening, thankfully avoiding the typical British downpour which followed for the rest of the conference. A gallery of images from the conference is available on the EACR’s official Facebook page. Click here to access the gallery.

“The conference was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the talks, the posters (never saw such a high poster quality!)... I also liked the additional features like high tea, seminar for early career scientists, as well as the venue, the size of the conference and the schedule (just right amount of program, allowing informal discussions with fellow scientists and leaving some time for a little rest in the evening). Well done everybody and thank you very much!”
We were delighted to offer five EACR Meeting Bursary Awards to assist members to attend this edition of the conference. Our congratulations go to:
Anja Kafka | Croatia
Rebecca Poulos | Australia
Camelia Quek | Australia
Shobha Silva | UK
Anna Supernat | Poland
The next meeting bursaries available are for the EACR conference Defence is the Best Attack, 09 - 11 October 2017, Barcelona, Spain.
Finally we would like to send a big congratulations to our two EACR Poster Prize winners, Yi Kan Wang (Canada) and Clemency Jolly (UK), who were awarded these prizes based on the scientific content and layout of their posters as well as their verbal discussion with the poster judges. We would also like to thank the presenters of our six poster spotlights, who gave fantastic talks on their posters in the two afternoon poster spotlight sessions.
