2010 EACR Award winners announced

 

The 2010 EACR Cancer Researcher Award

We are delighted to announce the winner of the EACR Cancer Researcher Award 2010: Professor Kevin Ryan, Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, Glasgow, UK. Kevin will be giving his award lecture on Sunday 27 June at the biannual meeting of the European Association for Cancer Research, EACR-21 in Oslo, Norway.

A report will appear on the website and in the EACR’s official Journal, The European Journal of Cancer (EJC) in the coming months.

We would like to congratulate our "Highly Commended" Award Winner: Associate Professor Dr Pierre Sonveaux from the University of Louvain, Brussels.

 

The 2010 Mike Price Fellowship Award

We are delighted to announce the winner of the 2010 Mike Price Fellowship Award: Dr Gerben Borst, Department of Radiation Oncology, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Name of Institution where research is to be conducted:
The Institute of Cancer Research, Royal Cancer Hospital, London.
Section of Cancer Therapeutics (including the Cancer Research UK Centre for Cancer Therapeutics and Section of Cell and Molecular Biology Research)

Goal of the study:
This in vitro study will study radiosensitization by Chk1 inhibition and explore the possible mechanisms.

A report of the study will appear in the 2011 edition of the EACR Year Book.
