EACR Council
The New Council Remit:
Council members build the relationship between their membership constituency and EACR; provide advice to the EACR Executive Committee; contribute to EACR communications; and look for opportunities for partnership working.
Where a ‘National Society’ does not exist in their country, the Council member seeks to develop a national network of EACR members with support provided through the Secretariat.
Six Countries qualify for ‘National Network’ representative seats on the new EACR Council
The revision of the EACR’s Constitution and By-Laws has brought about significant changes to the EACR Council. Following the meeting at EACR-20, the Council is now in the process of being re-constituted. The new council will comprise:
- The Presidents of EACR affiliated ‘National Societies’, AEK (Germany), ASEICA (Spain), BACR (U.K.), MOT (Hungary), SFC (France) and SIC (Italy).
- Sustaining Member representatives,
- International Partnership representatives
and
- Elected Representatives: ‘National Network’ representatives and three representatives elected to ‘Open Seats’
Elected Representatives:
‘National Network’ representatives
Seats on the Council become available for ‘National Network’ representatives when membership in any country exceeds 2% of the current ‘Individual Membership’ of EACR. At the Census point 1st September 2% represented 70 members
Six countries qualify for seats on the new Council and are:
Netherlands, Sweden, Russian Federation, Poland,
Greece, Denmark.
The term of office for a ‘National Network’ representative is four years. However, if membership falls below 2% the representative will be required to stand down.
‘Open Seats’
Three seats are also open for nomination and election across the Individual Members of EACR who are not working in a country that will be represented by a ‘National Society’ or ‘National Network’ representative. It is seen as desirable that nominees should be based in a country with an EACR membership that is growing strongly, are interested in developing a National Network and willing to liaise across a European Region.
Council membership is set out in detail in the Constitution and By-Laws.
