2009 EACR Young Cancer Researcher Award Lecture

This prestigious award lecture (of 20 minutes duration) is presented annually at EACR meetings.

  •  2,000 Euro plus expenses (travel, accommodation and congress fees) are awarded.
  • Applications are invited from young cancer researchers from European countries, aged under 40 at the time of application, for presentation at ECCO-15 Berlin, Germany 20 – 24 September 2009.

2009 Mike Price Fellowship

The Mike Price Fellowship exists to enable young cancer researchers to visit a European Institution in order to undertake a specific project related to cancer research, from basic science to treatment or care.

  • Applications will be accepted from European cancer researchers aged under 40
  • Applicants should have worked actively in cancer research for at least two years
  • Proposed projects may be related to any aspect of cancer research, from basic science to treatment or care
  • The duration of the Fellowships will be from 3 to 6 months
  • The value of the award will be up to 12,000 Euros and will cover travel expenses to and from the host institution and an agreed stipend
  • The closing date is 31st December 2008

Travel fellowships

This fellowship scheme is intended to assist cancer researchers, preferably less than 35 years old, to advance their research. The scheme is open to members of the Association and all applicants must be sponsored by two members of the EACR.

  • These Fellowships are intended to support research on the basis of technical exchange, including participation at workshops and courses, rather than to finance the attendance of meetings
  • The value of each award is up to 2000 Euros
  • Deadlines for the submission of applications each year are:
    • 31 March
    • 31 July
    • 30 November

Meeting bursaries

This scheme is designed to assist younger members of the Association, particularly post graduate students and members less than 35 years old, who otherwise would have major difficulties in securing funding to attend EACR main meetings.

  • The value of each award will be up to 1000 Euros
  • This grant will be used to assist with the cost of registration fee, travel and accommodation
